Welcome to Science 7!
In this class we cover a lot of topics! During the year students will learn about the Earth, physics, and living organisms. We will do experiments (called portfolios) and learn the terms and concepts for everyday science.
You are able to run your own schedule, meaning you may be on a different Unit and Lesson than the rest of your class. To make sure you are on track to finish on time you can use my Science 7 Pacing Guide. This guide will show you when you should be finished with lessons, and when Temporary Zeroes will be entered.
Temporary Zeroes are zeroes we put into the grade book that can be replaced once you complete the assignment. They will not affect your earned score. We use them to show students that they are behind or what their final score is.

Live Lessons
Live Lessons are Mondays and Wednesdays at 11 AM. These are an opportunity to ask me questions as they come to you! We will be discussing concepts you are learning in the class. Live Lessons are required! Recordings of live lessons will be sent out each week. I strongly encourage you to watch these recordings if you cannot attend in person.
In & Out Office Hours
Each school day from 2-3 PM students can join In & Out Office Hour, where you can ask to meet with any of your teachers, including me!

Portfolios
Portfolios are the experiments, or labs, that we do during Science 7. I believe that doing science is the best way to learn science! Sometimes portfolios can seem confusing, or scary to do. So I have special LiveLesson recordings to help students through their portfolio. I will post those links here as the portfolios are assigned.
If you have any questions about portfolios, please contact me as soon as possible! My contact information is at the bottom of this page.

Sample Work
Every other Unit you will have an assignment called Sample Work. For Sample Work you will come to In & Out or schedule a time to meet with me. During Sample Work we will review the Unit and make sure you are prepared for the upcoming test. This meeting will be 5-15 minutes.
In & Out is every school day from 2-3 PM. You can also schedule a time for us to meet in my Live Lesson room, if you cannot make In & Out.
