Welcome to Physics!
This class focuses on how the physical world can be described and explained by using science and math. This is an upper level Science Course, if you are struggling please let me know early! I can help you find your footing and get back to excelling in Physics!
You are able to run your own schedule, meaning you may be on a different Unit and Lesson than the rest of your class. To make sure you are on track to finish on time you can use my Physics Pacing Guide. This guide will show you when you should be finished with lessons, and when Temporary Zeroes will be entered.
Temporary Zeroes are zeroes we put into the grade book that can be replaced once you complete the assignment. They will not affect your earned score. We use them to show students that they are behind or what their final score is.

Live Lessons
This course does not have a regularly scheduled Live Lesson. Instead we can meet during In & Out Office Hours, or by appointment. I will be recording Live Lessons for Portfolios. If students let me know they are struggling with a specific concept, we can schedule a whole group Live Lesson to discuss it.
In & Out Office Hours
Each school day from 2-3 PM students can join In & Out Office Hour, where you can ask to meet with any of your teachers, including me!

Portfolios
In Physics Portfolios are used as experiments or opportunities to demonstrate what you are learning. These Portfolios make up a good amount of your grade, so it is important to do well on them.
Sometimes portfolios can seem confusing, or scary to do. So I have Live Lesson recordings to help students through their portfolio. I will post those links here as the portfolios are assigned.
If you have any questions about portfolios, please contact me as soon as possible! My contact information is at the bottom of this page.

Sample Work
Every other Unit you will have an assignment called Sample Work. Sample Work is a time for us to meet and talk about how your class is going. This meeting will be 5-15 minutes. You can either come to In & Out, schedule a meeting with me, or try calling. If you try to call I suggest texting me first, so make sure I am available to answer.
In & Out is every school day from 2-3 PM. You can also schedule a time for us to meet in my Live Lesson room, if you cannot make In & Out.
